Client service—as others would prefer to address it—is at the core of real estate. It can either be amazing or disheartening to see agents deal with their clients. Amazing because they show genuine care for their clients wishes and demands; disheartening because they might just be putting up a show to get the money. With today’s technology, clients can easily contact agents through phone, email, and social media accounts. This is an opportunity for real estate agents to shine in terms of providing top-notch service to their clientele. Responding quickly is key in keeping prospect and actual clients feel important and heard.

In providing high-class service, agents should know the client’s wishes and demands even before these are expressed. Such anticipatory service communicates that agents know their clients. Only through great customer service will a real estate agent become mindful of client needs.

Hotel design trends to watch in 2018

Hotel and hospitality guests are in for a visual treat with innovative hotel design trends in 2018. The trends largely try to satisfy their craving for extraordinary yet highly personalized experiences – still with the comforts and luxuries of home. Here are some of them.

Experiential luxury: Hotel designs today are exclusive experiential journeys for guests, including club-like spaces and destination-themed developments that wow the most meticulous eye.

Sustainability: Hotel designs today gear toward sustainability, or minimizing carbon footprint without sacrificing beauty and aesthetics. Take, for instance, reclaimed wood panel installations, and transitional indoor/outdoor spaces, and earthy architectural elements. Natural flora patterns are also increasingly being incorporated in hotel designs.

Bringing the outdoors in: Biophilic design integrates natural lighting, organic materials, living green walls, and vertical gardens, helping the surroundings become more sustainable as well as improving health and well-being. While guest rooms are actually shrinking, balconies and outdoor living areas are expanding. Creativity is enhanced while urban guests are given the opportunity to reconnect with nature.

Designer branding: Some fashion design brands have entered the hospitality market, changing customer perspective on the possibilities around branded luxury. Think of Bvlgari and its elegant contemporary property in London, or pairing designed interiors with luxury suites.

Hotel development: Staff training

Developing a great hotel goes beyond the structure itself. Developing a great hotel also entails training the people responsible for its operation – mainly the hotel staff. Here are some of the most important points hotel staff should be well-versed in once their hotel opens.

Relating to guests

One very important detail hotel staff should be trained to know at all times are the names of the guests. This little touch can go a long, long way. But of course, it shouldn’t stop there. Hotel staff should take the time to know what activities guests prefer, so as to recommend or suggest places and things to do. When guests feel at home and comfortable, the more likely they’ll come back.

Response to complaints

The response time between the reception of the complaint of a guest and the action the hotel staff takes should be as short as humanly possible. And not only does the response need to be immediate and decisive, but it also has to be discreet and private. The manner by which hotel staff takes care of customer issues is a huge factor in whether or not the guest comes back. And really, when it comes to business, that’s the biggest concern – having customers return.

A Day In The Life Of a Developer

Like many people primed for success, developers start their day early. They ready themselves mentally and physically for the demands of the day to come. The morning is made up of sections wherein they check the news, either online, on television, or in the papers. Developers are mostly interested in bits of info regarding real estate in their community because odds are these projects can affect their own.

The developer then leaves home to go the project construction site. There they consult with the foreman, and investors, if any are visiting. They touch base, talking about problems and solutions. They also go over the finances if anything new was added.

There are some days when developers head out to city hall to talk to the right people for permits and taxes. They also interact with building inspectors and are updated by new rules and codes.

After all this, developers spend a lot of time researching the community on either possible locations for new projects, or things that could affect their current development.
